Lately there’s been a lot of talk about HTML5. HTML5 is the next major revision of HTML. It aims to reduce the need for proprietary plug-in-based rich internet application (RIA) technologies such as Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, Apache Pivot, and Sun JavaFX. As of right now, HTML5 is in its “Last Call”; we hope to see HTML5 release soon.

How many times have you found yourself in a situation where you’re unable to access your instant messenger program, just because you’re blocked on a public computer? Or sometimes it’s just a hassle to install multiple instant messenger clients on your computer especially if you are on multiple different IM network; one solution is to install a multiprotocol instant messaging application like Digsby (check out Curtis’ post). TotalFinder brings tabs to your native Finder and more! This application allows tab browsing in Finder with the look and feel of Chrome browser. TotalFinder also has a nice feature which allows you to keep folders open on top and stop creating .DS_Store files litter. This application is only for Mac OSX 10.6 and is still in alpha.

Want to convert PDF to word? Well I guess you’re going to have to shell out $450 for Adobe Professional; actually hold on. The people from NitroPDF (same people who created PrimoPDF) have released a web application called PDF to Word Converter, which allows you to convert PDF into Word (.doc) format. Plus, PDF to Word Converter sends the converted PDF right to your email.
